Our nuggets are approximately 1/4 inch cubes.  We have one of the smallest nuggets on the market which has many benefits.  Fist of all, pets like to eat raw meat that is still partially frozen.  They like the to chew their food, a very natural behavior.  With a chub that you have to fully defrost before you are able to serve, the dog does not get the pleasure of chewing their food.  Second, by not having to fully defrost the food, you get the convenience of on the go feeding (no planning ahead the night before) and there is less opportunity for contamination since the food does not sit out defrosted.

Freeze Dried Dog Food

The freeze-dried versions are identical (with the exception of moisture content) to Steve’s frozen diets and can be served as a complete and balanced meal. They’re also much easier to transport and mail-order. All packages have an unopened shelf-life of over a year. After opening, if the product is placed in a sealed container in a refrigerator it will last for up to two weeks, and up to a month if kept in a freezer. We produce them in the same way our frozen products are prepared, then we freeze dry the product. The food spends several days in a vacuum chamber where the pressure is so low that ice sublimes directly to water vapor. When the process is finished, 97% of the moisture in the product has been removed, without heat-treating of any kind.

The food is packaged using an all-new foil pouch designed to keep oxygen and other oxidizing spoilants out.
