Kitten the Senior Cat

Share the Post:

Kitten is a 14yr old orange tabby that came into my life about 5 years ago when my roommate decided to bring her childhood cat into our house. He was currently on low quality kibble and it was easy to tell. He was overweight, dandruff ridden, and had the most horrendous smelling poops. I got some samples of some raw foods for him to try out and Steves was one of them. He is a vacuum of a cat so he loved all of them, making it my choice to pick the brand. Steves Quest was an affordable option for me that still had amazing ingredients for Kitten so we started it. He absolutely thrived on it. He lost weight, his fur felt amazing, his poops got better and he was more active.

After about 4 years of being on raw food we had noticed he had lost too much weight and looked a bit sunken in. I assumed I wasn’t feeding him enough and tried my best to get more calories into him. We took him to the vet and it turned out this old man has diabetes. We got him on insulin and the vet told me he needed a high protein diet. I giggled to myself because he was already on one! So we stuck to Steves and didn’t stray. I knew his diabetes was most likely from years of being on low quality kibble and street cat genetics so I didn’t worry too much. After starting his insulin and staying on Steves he started looking like his old self again. Healthy, vibrant and as orange as ever!
