All of the building blocks that go into making Steve’s Real Food are sourced and purchased solely from companies as committed to quality as we are. Our farms have USDA status, they only sell human-grade quality meats, and are owned and operated within the United States. If you want an honest product, start with an honest company.  Steve’s Real Food believes in full disclosure, and we want to educate our customers, not just sell to them. Our target market is the customer who thoroughly researches before buying. The more thorough a pet parent is, the more likely they are to purchase our product. We source our ingredients from the following list of companies.  They welcome any questions you may have.

AGRI Beef | Idaho,  United States

AGRI Beefs’ all-natural, grass-fed BEEF is raised in the northwest. They take great pride in the quality of their products, sustainable practices, and humane handling of all their animals. Third-party experts inspect them annually for food safety and animal welfare. 

Draper Valley Farms Chickens | Washington, United States

Draper Valley Farms has been raising their poultry with no added antibiotics, no hormones, and no preservatives since 1935. Every humanely-raised chicken is vegetarian-fed, the way nature intended. They emphasize the importance of running a sustainable business and take extra effort to recycle and conserve water. 

 

Pittman Family Farms | California, United States

Family-owned, our turkey farmers have been raising poultry since 1954.  They have been certified by the Non-GMO Project, and their turkeys are free-range, vegetarian, and hormone and antibiotic free.  Raised in California, you can purchase Mary’s turkeys (named after the family matriarch)  in Whole Foods and select grocery stores around the country – particularly around the holidays. 

Amaroo Hills | United States

Our emu comes from Amaroo Hills family farms in TN and NC. Amaroo Hills is an American Emu Association Certified Business Member and the facility is inspected by the USDA (like all Steve’s sources) to ensure the highest quality.

Carlton Farms | Oregon, United States

Carlton Farms is a family-owned business since 1956 producing all-natural pork and beef products. Their commitment to quality means animals are raised without hormones or growth accelerants, ensuring a pure and ethical approach to farming. With USDA food inspectors and veterinary staff at their facility daily, you can rest assured we receive safe, wholesome, and high-quality meat.

Pacific Seafood | Oregon, United States

All vessels that harvest for Pacific Seafood using trawl methods are required to have turtle excluder devices to allow turtles to escape if they get caught in the nets. They are MSC Certified for wild-caught fish, ASC Certified for farmed fish, and level 3-4 Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP). The fish are flash frozen at -40C to ensure parasites are eliminated and to lock in freshness.

Local, Raw Honey hails from Flying Bee Ranch. They produce Oregon’s finest raw honey thanks to the hard work of over 500 colonies of bees. They are committed to high-quality honey and sustainable beekeeping practices.

Zaca Pet | New Zealand Waters
Greenshell Mussel Powder (also termed Green Lipped Mussel) are harvested in New Zealand’s pristine Marlborough Sound, and is produced by using food-grade, cleaned mussel meat without shell. The meat is then CO2 Extracted, resulting in a low-moisture fine powder we use for mixing in pet food. The freeze-dried, extracted Green-Lipped Mussel Powder is imported under a veterinary health certificate for Pet Feed.

Chia is sourced from Bunker Foods, which receives the product from Argentina. They are quality-certified by SGS and Kosher-certified by KLBD. The non-GMO seeds are not irradiated or pressure pasteurized.

Our organic coconut oil comes from Nutiva. All these ingredients are carefully sourced to ensure safety and nutritional quality, keeping your pet’s health optimal.

TASCO | North Atlantic Waters

 

Tasco uses a distinguished strain of brown kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum) known for the density of its nutrients. Our kelp is hand-harvested from the North Atlantic to help with the sustainability of kelp communities, and to protects the quality and purity of the product.

The eggshell membrane comes in liquid form from BiovaPlex It’s NASC-certified, which indicates manufacturer commitment to meeting specific quality standards in the production of animal health supplements and pet products.
